Would recommend!. A turn-based RPG fairytale. The Huntsman: Winter's Curse does a wonderful job to keep you interested in the story and although somewhat repetitve it does deliver on its end.Being a fairytale. The visuals are something that fits very well with the rest of the game and its atmosphere.Gameplay wise you mustn't expect something great, but nothing bad too.I would recommend a full price only if you really like fairytales and visual novels with combat here and there. On a sale, it is a good purchase and will keep you entertained for a few hours.7/10. The first book is not really a full game, but a short demo. Like a tutorial. If books 2 and 3 are as long as the first book, then paying 5$ for each seems waaaaay too expensive. Maybe if you buy the season pack you do get your value for money, though, but it is hard to tell if they'll put these intersting mechanics to good use in the next chapters or not. Really, it is quite difficult to judge how good the game will be after just playing a tutorial. In my opinion, it would have been more honest to make the first book a longer, satisfying experience, even if it is for free. Satisfied gamers might buy the next books. But if you leave them with an empty feeling, they might go and spend their dollars in something safer. My case is the later, but if you play the first book and do not mind taking risk, you could rake a risk, go for the season pass and see how does it plays out.. I've never been one for visual novel-type games, but this one really warmed me up to that genre.Almost the moment I started the game, I got this Through the Looking Glass/Fran Bow feeling; that creepy yet cartoony innocence, mainly from the artwork and animations. That particularly was one of the things that caught my eye about this game, and I'm glad that feeling carried through the gameplay.I'm not sure if other visual novels have similar combat mechanics, or even have combat at all for that matter, but it's that typical type of turn-based card game that I also really haven't played a lot of. I think it fit very well with the game, however, and also seemed to pace the story in a way.I was also very surprised by how much you could customize the main character and her companion, from combat gear down to the stats. As an RPG devotee, that was very much appreciated. And also completely unexpected. Each book is a bit short, in that you can probably finish each one in about 20-30 minutes. The first book is free, so I'd definitely try that out before you decide to spend the 5 dollars on each remaining book.Overall, I'd definitely recommend this!. Single player cards game for free.
